Redevelopment of the Bouchet School Complex in Bonneville
The major restructuring of this ordinary modern heritage asset reveals its potential for transformation. Built in the 1960s, the buildings are based on a regular reinforced concrete structure. Without insulation and altered by successive additions, they had become dysfunctional. Following strip-out, asbestos removal, partial deconstruction and strengthening of the existing structures, the project consists of a timber-frame vertical extension and addition, provided with a high‑performance thermal envelope. Two new covered playgrounds, positioned perpendicular to the main building, redefine the schoolyards.
