Project description
The school is the central element of the urban development project for the ZAC. In this evolving context, it arranges its programme around three south-facing courtyards and creates its own internal landscape. The alternation of built volumes and planted areas provides permeability at the scale of the block, crossed by a covered pedestrian walkway forming a forecourt. The timber interior fit-out, the custom-made furniture and the attention given to lighting and acoustic conditions shape spaces suited to learning. Hemp and straw insulation makes use of local resources.
