Project description

The Balaruc thermal center complements the resort’s historic facilities by addressing new user groups. Located on the edge of the Thau lagoon, it is integrated with restraint into a demanding landscape and climatic context. The building forms an L-shape and develops a horizontal composition through a timber screen, shading structures and pergolas. In contrast, the indoor and outdoor pools of the aquatic circuit adopt curved forms that support the different uses. The project combines recreational activities and wellness within an environmental approach based on timber, passive systems and the direct use of thermal water.
