Project description

Located on the site of the former Fagor-Brandt factories, the tramway maintenance center is an industrial facility that is essential to the operation of the metropolitan mobility network. Usually located on the outskirts, this type of facility is here positioned in the city center, with particular attention paid to its urban and landscape integration. The buildings, defined by the 43 meters length of the tram units, develop an architecture of repetitive bays where constructive rationality becomes the guiding principle of the composition. A hybrid structure combining rammed earth, metal and timber forms this efficient industrial tool.
