Market Hall in Marcy-l'Étoile

Hoisting and positioning of the framework
Project description
The hall provides a covered multipurpose space on the main square in the town centre. Its simple form, a hipped roof inscribed in a 21‑metre square, is structured by a timber frame made of interwoven glued-laminated timber slats. Connected to each other by metal hangers, these slats form a three-dimensional grid bearing loads in both directions. The whole structure, prefabricated and erected in a single operation, rests on a perimeter beam clamping black steel columns that incorporate blinds and building services.
