Project description
The project consists in transforming a neglected complex, emblematic of 1970s administrative architecture and composed of a base and a tower, into a mixed urban facility accommodating a film library, municipal archives, a memorial centre, the municipal police headquarters, student housing and offices. It is based on two principles: revealing the intrinsic qualities and potential of the existing structure through selective stripping out and restoration; and implementing targeted, clearly identifiable interventions – removing a corner of the base to improve the relationship with public space, adding an emergency staircase and adding a rooftop volume.
