The screens follow the line of the motorway, accompanying its curves and slopes without a break. The crash barrier and the screens form a single sweep. They are tilted at a slight angle so as to avoid sound being reflected. The uncomplicated nature of the design makes for an unobtrusive visual presence. Variations in slope are smoothed out in such a way as to produce an uninterrupted, fluid line. The primary structure is set perpendicular to the reinforced concrete crash barrier. The proposed configuration is that of a screen with an upper diffraction surface and two separate facets. Each of these is not simply the back of the other, and their angles are individually adjustable. The system simultaneously reflects, diffracts and absorbs sound waves.
